Italians in Berlin: social, cultural and economic aspects

The German-Italian scholarship issued by A Colorni-Hirschman International Institute has been awarded to Stefania Amato, who has done a research on Italians in Berlin.

“Italians in Berlin: social, cultural and economic aspects” initially reconstructs the main phases and characteristics of the Italian diaspora in Germany . Then it focuses on a field research  in Berlin that pertained encounters with organizational moments of the main Italian communities and a direct dialogue with Italians residents of Berlin, coming from different generations and affiliations – geographical, professional, gender.  Through all these voices it is possible to envisage a moving picture, of openings and misunderstandings, but also of meaningful relationships in view of a new European cultural landscape.
